THIS IS NOT A BAD MOVIE!! I can't understand why this film has a 31% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The ending didn't turn out as I had hoped, but if it had, I'd probably be disappointed by the film's predictability. The RT audience score is 64% which still seems a little low. The majority of criticisms seem to point out that the film's broader moral and philosophical themes are often suppressed by somewhat shallow/corny romance film cliches.

The Chivas 18 Pininfarina sighting takes place at the 13 minute mark when Jim (Chris Pratt) orders up some whisky from the android bartender played by Michael Sheen. Does this scene remind anyone else of the Gold Room scene from "The Shining". This is one of many Kubrickian references throughout the film.

Here's the latest Nerdwriter video in which Evan re-edits and rearranges scenes from "Passengers". The end result seems to be an undoubtedly better product than the original and might move the Tomatometer up a few notches.
