It's no secret that single-use plastic drinking straws are an environmental hazard: The average person uses 1.6 straws per day, and plastic straws are one of the top ten pollutants collected from our oceans. To create awareness for this eco-issue, National Skip The Straw Day is celebrated every year on the fourth Friday in February.
