For the past several seasons, Cocktails, 365 has been honored to be the official mixologist of the Depot Theater Company and Imbibe! at the Depot Theater Company in Dodge City. We take our duty of making paired cocktails quite seriously. It’s all part of the upper level service people can expect when they come to one of the best live theaters in the Midwest. As such, the cocktail has to match it.

As we just wrapped up Spamalot, we felt the cocktail for the show had to be something that went well with the meal of roast chicken, but also offered something uniquely British. After all, a musical (lovingly) ripped off from Monty Python and the Holy Grail only deserves the best the grand isle has to offer.

For some background on the name, Diva’s Lament is one of the songs from Monty Python’s Spamalot. Listen below.

It only seemed fitting to give the Lady of the Lake her own cocktail (expertly played in our production by the insanely talented Christina Haselhorst).

Diva’s Lament

  • 2 oz gin infused with Earl Grey tea (one bag per cup, soaked for 1 hour)
  • .5 oz Earl Grey tea syrup
  • 1/2 fresh lemon

Combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake the bejesus out of it. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a lemon wedge squeezed over the top.
