As you can probably guess from my blog I am obsessed with edible flowers.  I think that they scream spring and are so pretty when used as a garnish.  I decided to chop them up and use them in a new margarita recipe that I created the other day.  This margarita has the addition of grenadine which gives it a nice sweet flavor.  I do not like my margaritas overly sweet so the agave and grenadine add just enough sweetness to cut the lime flavor.  The edible flowers should be stirred into the margarita because they add an earthy component and highlight the tequila.  I like this style of margarita because it is different from your typical bar margarita and is really pretty with the chopped flowers.  If you are trying to impress someone this margarita would be the way to go.  It would be a perfect addition to a Mexican-style dinner party.  I am imagining a guacamole bar and possibly fajitas on the grill to get the party started.  Of course this fancy drink could be blended up in batches and topped with flowers very easily.  Let’s start the party planning because all your friends love margaritas!
