One very important factor to cocktailing (in my opinion) is syrup. Of course the hundreds of flavors of bitters, strange or unheard of spirits and technique are very important. BUT, for the home bar enthusiast, your homemade syrup can be the driving force of your cocktail. You could possibly use 1 syrup with different spirits and have a new cocktail everytime. You could also really impress your friends at your backyard BBQ. Syrups make batching cocktails for parties and cookouts a cinch. Herbs, spices, peppers, fruits, teas all make for simple and complex syrups. This daiquiri uses a hibiscus-ginger syrup. Put a little spin on the classic daiquiri cocktail.
