Surfers Beware

Surfers Beware

I stopped in briefly at Butchers and Barbers during a recent bar crawl with LA Passport. I hadn’t been before and thought the restaurant/ bar was very cute. I’d like to come back to try the American gastropub fare.

Butchers and Barbers recently updated its drinks menu. I was going to get the listed Ol’ Grand-dad drink with the LA Passport deal but luckily I was allowed to pick anything I wanted so I went with rum.

Surfers Beware – Plantation pineapple rum, green-tea infused apple brandy, lemon, demerara, orange bitters

I was eyeing more but we had to keep going on the bar crawl. I’d be back to try the Laurel (Royal Dock navy-strength gin, Saler’s, lemon, Peychaud’s bitters), Escape at Dawn (Four Roses bourbon, Campari, watermelon syrup, lemon, shiso leaf) and Gold Hat (Altos reposado tequila, cilantro-infused falernum, pamplemousse, raspberry, lime, habanero bitters).

Butchers and Barbers is very close to No Vacancy and Dirty Laundry. It could be a mini bar hop without ever leaving the block!
