I was reminded of this drink because of a post on the Mina Real facebook page. I was up in the East Bay, Albany in particular, and it by the way--it was happening at the Ivy Room!

Ronaldo (owner /operator at The Ivy Room) made this drink, and it was AWESOME! Graciously, he shared the recipe, but I have been having the hardest time finding La Mestiza Liqueur, so I guess you'll have to do what I did and go to The Ivy and have it!

I wrote about Mina Real Silver here . . . and the La Mestiza Licor is a 'Nance' liqueur made by the good folks a D'Aristi. Nance is a flavor that is hard to pin down... mango, passionfruit (way less acidity), cantaloupe, casaba . . .like I said - - tough-to-pin-down! I have not had this liqueur straight (in my arrogance, I thought I could find it, after I had this lovely drink at the Ivy--but I FAILED), in the drink it is a juicy song of complexity and balance.

Without further 'ado' here is the recipe, created by the master himself. Ronaldo Colli:

When you try it, think of me . . .
