Zero readers love this post.
Its the most wonderful time of the month – Mixology Monday! Our deepest thanks to Scott from the Shake, Strain & Sip blog for hosting this month and giving a wonderful theme which is Temperance! We’re going to be using a shrub with pears, ginger, honey solution and pepper corn for our tasty cocktail, not to mention, its non-alcoholic.
Preparing our Spring Shrub for Easter
Spring Time Shrub:
Ingredients:
Shrub:
2 asian pears
1 thumb-sized piece of ginger
2 cups apple cider vinegar
1 cup white sugar
1 1/4 cup honey
1/2 tsp black pepper
Procedure:
Prepare the Shrub:
1. Cut up the pears and dice the ginger
2. Heat up vinegar & honey in microwave-safe bowl until warm
3. Combine everything in a non-reactive, air-tight container
4. Let the mixture sit for 2 days in a cool, dry place
Watch our previous video on shrubs to find out why we used hot vinegar this time instead of the cold extraction technique
Prepare the Soda:
Combine 2-3 parts soda water with 1 part shrub in a Collins glass over ice.
I can’t wait to see what everybody has contributed for this month’s theme and Happy Easter!
