Gin was supposedly created back in the 17th century in Holland as a medicine for people with stomach issues. When they figured out it tasted horrible they would put juniper berries in it to make it more palatable. The berries, turns out, have their own medicinal properties as well.
In current society gin is labeled as an "old timey drink" and is an acquired taste to most. Actually gin is a highly versatile liquor which can be used in many recipes. Here is a list of some simple gin drinks that you should try out.
