The dark beer synonymous with Ireland is a staple on St. Patrick’s Day, but Guinness USA invites you to have a pint before March 17. The company has declared February 26, 2015 National Raise Your Glass Day. For every picture of a Guinness pint tweeted to @GuinnessUS or posted to the company’s Facebook page, it will donate a dollar to the Leary Firefighters Foundation, which provides funding and equipment to fire departments around the country.
Country star Brad Paisley is also in on the act. He helped design a shirt that will be available at bar events throughout the country as well as online until St. Patrick’s Day, when Guinness hopes to have raised one million dollars to donate to Leary Firefighters Foundation. The shirt reads “To Those Who Walk Through Fire: Made Of More,” and features the Guinness harp.
This is the Foundation’s third year partnering with Guinness, and in the past it has distributed money to the Boston, New York and Worcester, Mass. Fire Departments, as well as donated safety equipment to the Detroit Fire Department.
