Inspiration

When making a spooky cocktail my first thought took me back to the days of going to haunted corn mazes. The thing that always stuck out in my mind was when you would see a red glowing eye in the dark through the corn. This was the inspiration for my Hungarian Cyclops that is a basic cocktail but the glowing red of the cocktail in a coupe glass brought back so many memories.

Recipe

  • 1.75 oz - Zwack Hungarian Liqeuer
  • 1 oz - Campari
  • 4 dashes - Peychaud's Bitters
  • 1 Luxardo Original Maraschino Cherry
  • 1 barspoon of Luxardo Original Maraschino Cherry syrup

Put the Zwack, Campari and bitters in a mixing glass and stir

Pour into a coupe glass

Garnish with one cherry in the middle of the drink and drizzle the syrup around the cherry to create a bloodshot eye effect
