An old fashioned at its basics is a base spirit( usually bourbon) a sweetener, and a seasoning (usually in the form of bitters). Why not switch up the base spirit with something non traditional and local? This particular recipe highlights the floral qualities of the gin, and uses the elderflower as the sweetener. The three different citrus add the brightness nessacery to cut through all of the floral and sweet qualities.
