The Texas G&T by Treaty Oak Distilling

Three readers love this post.
This G&T amplifies true Texas flavors! The Texas G&T uses Yaupon holly which is the only native caffeinated plant in North America. It also uses Texas Grapefruit - bright and refreshing with a slight bitterness that complements wildflower honey flavor and tannins from the Treaty Oak Waterloo Old Yaupon Gin. Our specific recipe (seen below) calls for locally sourced Springwood tonic water, as well as a rosemary garnish, which we grow on the distillery property in Dripping Springs, TX.
The cocktail is refreshing and approachable, yet has complex layers of flavor. It's simple to make at home (with whatever tonic is available) but also highlights the experimentation and uniqueness of the Waterloo brand.
The star of the show: Waterloo Old Yaupon Gin
Waterloo Old Yaupon, a unique take on an Old Tom Gin, meaning an 18th century London Dry. Pale-yellow in appearance, this 90-proof gem features botanicals such as Yaupon Holly, Juniper, Kaffir Lime, Anise, which are then back-sweetened with Wildflower Honey. It will make you rethink everything you thought you knew about the spirit.
Recipe:
1.5 oz Treaty Oak's Waterloo Old Yaupon Gin
1 oz Texas Grapefruit juice
.25 oz luxardo dry cherry liqueur
Top with 2-3 oz. our locally sourced springwood tonic (or any tonic of your choosing)
Garnish with a fresh sprig of rosemary
