As you walk to your front door, the cool breeze picks up and throws crispy leaves about you like confetti at a killer party. The air is filled with the smell of smoke and apple pies fresh out of the oven. You get in your warm house, start unwrapping yourself of knit ware, and decide it is the perfect moment for a cocktail by the fire. The problem is, you don’t know what to mix up. Well my friends, I have the perfect concoction for such a day. Gin, ginger beer, spiced rum, and apple juice. Bookmark this one, it’s time for an Autumn Bloom cocktail.
AUTUMN BLOOM COCKTAIL
INGREDIENTS
- 2 ounces of Botanist Gin
- 1/2 ounce of spiced rum
- 1 ounce of apple juice
- Top off with ginger beer
- Garnish with an apple slice and a sprig of thyme
INSTRUCTIONS
- In a coup glass, pour the gin, rum, and apple juice.
- Top off the drink with a healthy amount of ginger beer.
- Garnish with a thin apple slice and a fresh thyme sprig. Enjoy!
In a coup glass, pour 2 ounces of The Botanist gin. Why The Botanist specifically, you ask? Because it is fantastic and should be in everyone’s repertoire, that’s why.
Then add 1/2 ounce of spiced rum (The Kraken is a good one for this!) and one ounce of apple juice.
Top off the glass with a generous portion of ginger beer or ale and watch the bubble ignite!
Garnish with a thin apple slice and a sprig of fresh thyme. If you then let the drink sit and look pretty for about 5 minutes, the garnishes will infuse the cocktail with the most delightfully subtle hints of flavor. Well worth the wait! Now, sip and enjoy by a blazing fire!
Cheers to your lovely Autumn festivities, my friends!
