Let's take it back to when all the leaves were brown...and the sky was gray.

This is a throwback cocktail. Aka, I made it and posted it back in the Fall before I had this blog and I miss it and want to talk about it and blah, blah, blah.

I know it seems long ago. And now it seems far away. But I don't give a damn.

I'll just consider this...planning way in advance.

So.

This is one to spice up those taste buds and stir in all those awesome flavors to make the delightful season of Fall as vibrant as it can be. Fall is the time of change, and hopefully kind of change that we love. The kind of transition that we put our boots on for, and breathe in deeply as we stroll through the streets with the leaves crunching below our feet. So whatever's in store for this coming Fall— start it off smart. Take the time before making those big decisions, so you can be as bold as possible when the time comes. So what better way to bring in all that sophistication to our palate than with a lovely brandy cocktail?

So here's "Notable Scheme," one of my lovely autumn cocktails. A defined mouth-warming cocktail of apple and blackberry brandy with spikes of allspice to bring it all in. But careful, it’s definitely a charming little devil that wants to be your friend, so pace yourself before it gets the best of you. Tin hats on, scholars. You're in it to win now.

Let's concoct:

• 1 1/2 oz Liard's Apple Brandy
• 1 1/2 oz Blackberry Brandy
• 1/4 oz Allspice Dram

*Shake with ice and strain into a chilled couple glass.
