Tropical Tequila Delight

Twenty-two readers love this post.
Today I am sharing a boozy summer tropical drink to jumpstart the season of warmer weather. Currently, I am in San Miguel de Allende in Mexico and boy is the weather hot. I love taking advantage of the weather by sitting by the pool and sipping on a nice tropical cocktail. For starters, I love piña coladas and margaritas but sometimes you want to upgrade those treats into something different. That is where this cocktail comes into play; it has tequila and yellow chartreuse as the base spirits. Yellow chartreuse is a slightly intimating spirit to work with and just for the record, I thought the same thing when I picked up my first bottle of Campari. Interestingly enough, this liqueur started being produced in 1732 in France by Monks. How cool is that? For these liqueurs you just have to experiment a bit with flavors and you will find a perfect balance especially if you have mastered some of the classics using the liqueur. Then you can tweak ingredients and add you favorite twist. Cheers to the start of warmer weather and even better tropical cocktails!
