Two readers love this post.
This is one of Spiked Sweet Shoppe’s original recipes! These are perfect for weddings, or bachelor/bachelorette parties! You can also used them for James Bond themed parties. The Jello shots shown are black, which was made with grape Jello (purple) and to make it black, just add a few drops of all your food coloring to the mix! If you use a dark liquor (think Chambord, Blackberry Brandy, Blue Curacao, etc.) you will not have to add much food coloring. You can also use your classic Jello shot liquors such as plain or flavored vodkas (whipped cream, orange, or grape are popular flavors). If you use liquor with lighter colors, you might have to add just a few more food coloring drops to your mix.
Above there are two different toppings. The Jello shot on the right is white chocolate cut into the shape of a triangle, with black gel decoration frosting on top (meant for cookies, cupcakes, etc). The Jello shot on the left is white gel decoration frosting with black frosting on top.
Pros and cons:
White chocolate (on right):
+ Frosting does not ‘spread’ over time.
- You cannot take this as a ‘shot’ without eating the white chocolate first.
+ You can turn the previous comment into a positive by eating it like dessert, with a spoon.
Frosting only (on left):
- Frosting will spread (only slightly) if taken out of the refrigerator for a period of time.
+ Easier to ‘shoot’ than the one with white chocolate.
Make sure your Jello shot is completely chilled before decorating!
You can also make opposing white Tuxedo Jello Shots with 2 packets of unflavored gelatin, 1 can of condensed milk (10 oz size), and vodka. The condensed milk is pretty sweet so it makes your Jello shotstasty, but we recommend using a flavored clear vodka with the white Jello shots to ensure a tasty treat.
