Love is in the air and to celebrate the smart way, be sure you serve up this #1 Valentine’s Day Cocktail. This clever SkinnyTini will not only trigger a dizzy love spell and save you tons of empty calories — its star studded ingredient (beet juice) is also one of natures most potent medicinal gifts! So cheers to the simplicity and the efficiency of strengthening your love and your love muscle at the same time.
Why is beet juice the perfect ingredient for a Valentine’s Day Cocktail?
Not only is beet juice a power food with a host of health benefits — it simply makes a great replacement for the sugary and watered down cranberry juice you would find in a traditional Cosmo. With February being about love and a strong heart, beets make the perfect cameo appearance in this Cosmo. Here are just a few fun beet bits for you — straight out of the Nutrition Guide from of the Color Yourself Skinny 21-Day Diet Detox system:
Beets: A good source of vitamin A, B (folate) and C, minerals phosphorous, potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron and also fiber. Good source of carotenoids, especially beta-carotene. Some call beets nature’s Viagra because of the boron content. Beets get their color from the betalains with strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. They also contain betaine that fights depression and spots a dose of tryptophan, known for making you happy. Beets are also alkalizing on the body helping to regulate pH.
Let me also tell you that when folate and betaine get together they team up to lower levels of homocysteine in your blood. Why does that matter you wonder? Homocysteine is an inflammatory bother that damages arteries and increases the risk of heart disease. So this tini really packs a punch for you this month as we focus on fighting back agains America’s #1 killer: Heart Disease.
Where do you get beet juice for this potent Valentine’s Day Cocktail?
The best way to get the most nutrient packed juice is to chop off the leaves and jam it in the juicer in your kitchen! If you go this route, I suggest adding some fresh ginger to give the juice more complexity and the cocktail more depth. You can also buy pre-made beet juice at most health food stores or any fancy juice bar. Check the ingredients to see if there is any added sugar or water as both will affect the outcome of this SkinnyTini.
