4 green hangover remedies for St. Patrick's Day recovery

1. Green Tea Cosmo
Ingredients
- 2 parts brewed green tea, cooled
- 1 part 100% pomegranate juice
- Agave nectar, if needed to sweeten
- Lemon twists
Directions
- Place green tea and pomegranate juice (2 to 1 ratio) in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. If desired, add agave nectar, to taste. Shake well and strain into martini glasses.
- Serve garnished with a lemon twist.
2. Green Tea Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon sweet matcha (green tea powder, available in Asian grocery stores and online)
- 2 tablespoons hot water
- 1 cup vanilla soy milk
- 1 cup ice
Directions
Dissolve tea powder in hot water, then stir into soy milk. Pour into blender with ice and blend until slushy.
3. Iced Green Tea (with mint and honey)
Ingredients
- 4 green tea bags
- 2 mint tea bags
- 1/3 cup honey
- 5 cups hot water
- 4-6 sprigs of fresh mint
Directions
- Boil water and add tea bags. Let steep for 5 minutes.
- Discard tea bags. Add honey and stir.
- Cool in the refrigerator for 30-60 minutes.
- Serve over ice and garnish with fresh mint leaves.
- Garnish with fresh sliced strawberries, fresh sliced banana or Spanish peanuts.
4. Green [faux] Martini (kale-based)
Ingredients
- 1 bunch dinosaur kale
- 1 bunch dandelion greens
- 2 stalks celery
- 1 medium Granny Smith apple
- 1 medium pink grapefruit
- 1 lemon
- 1 dropper Stevia liquid
Directions
- Wash kale, dandelions, celery and apple, and dry with a paper towel. Cut apple into quarters leaving on skin. Cut grapefruit into quarters and peel off rind. Press palm down on to lemon to release juice, cut into quarters and peel rind.
- Using a juicer, start to juice kale, one leaf at a time, followed by dandelion and celery. Next juice apple, grapefruit and lemon, one piece at a time.
- Place crushed ice or three ice cubes into a martini shaker, pour in half of the juice, add 1/2 dropper of liquid Stevia. Cover martini shaker and shake it, baby.
- Serve in a clear glass so you can see the green.
