4 Ladies, 4 Libations

Between St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, and the first day of spring, there’s a lot to celebrate in March. But perhaps our favorite cause for revelry this month? All things women, and the places they’ve gotten us to today. In honor of Women’s History Month, we rounded up a handful of cocktails direct from four NYC ladies worth drinking for — and with.

THE PINK LEMONADE at BUTTER & SCOTCH
Butter & Scotch co-owner and beverage director Allison Kave was already a fan of Encanto Pisco and planning to feature it on the bar-bakery’s spring cocktail menu — but when the option came sooner to use it for the LOADed Cocktail Passport (a $37 ticket comprised of drinks from 37 bars), she jumped at the opportunity. The result? A shaken concoction of the Peruvian spirit, hibiscus-infused honey, lemon, and Peychaud’s bitters that’s served up with a lemon twist.

THE MERMAID PARADE at NITECAP
Inspired to create an adult version of the classic egg cream, co-owner Natasha David got to work, shaking together Aperol, Parquet Marie Framboise, egg white, and grapefruit and lemon juices until frothy, then topping it all off with a splash of seltzer water. The best part (besides its name)? It’s only complete after a dash of edible glitter.

THE ROCKIN' MULE at BOB'S YOUR UNCLE
After having a Moscow Mule at the Cosmopolitan in Vegas, Bob’s Your Uncle co-owner Danielle Savin felt compelled to offer up her own version with a Mule Bar — complete with DIY options for base spirit and bitters. “It’s not only the perfect drink for a hangover, but delicious anytime of day,” she notes. Just one of the most current riffs features Mr. Katz’s Rock & Rye and orange bitters alongside the basics: lemon juice and ginger beer.

DELHI AND ONWARDS at POURING RIBBONS
It was the cross-cultural influences between England and India that prompted creative director Amanda Elder to make a drinkable version of Kulfi — a traditional Indian ice cream — by way of a riff on the 20th Century, a gin-based sipper named for a NYC-Chicago railway. In her spin, Elder marries rich flavors of Marie Brizzard White Creme de Cacao, banana puree, Lustau La Jarana Fino Sherry, and vanilla with Beefeater gin before shaking and double straining the components into a banana leaf-adorned fizz glass.
