This weekend when you gear up to celebrate the debauchery that is St. Patrick's Day in New York, perhaps it's time to forgo the usual green beer and car bombs and take a classier route to day drinking. Here are a few St. Patty's inspired cocktails from some of NYC's top mixologists to help get the party started:
Shenandoah
1.5 oz Irish Whiskey
.75 oz Green Chartreuse
.75 oz Vermouth Blanc
.25 oz Salers Gentiane
Combine ingredients in a mixing glass; stir. Strain into chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a thick lemon twist.
- Justin Lane Briggs, Gin Palace
The O'sheet
1.5 oz Irish Whiskey
.75 oz Mother's Ruin Coffee Cordial
.75 oz whole milk
2 dashes chocolate bitters
Shake well and strain over rocks. Grated nutmeg for garnish.
-T.J. Lynch, Mother's Ruin
Bare Knuckle Punch
1.5 oz Irish Whiskey
.05 oz Green Chartreuse
.75 oz Lime Juice
.05 oz simple syrup
Shake vigorously and pour into a rocks glass.
