Following the series of tributes to some icons and Traditions of my Country, Portugal, this is my grandma memories.
It was common in the old days to get fresh milk from the stables in metal jugs called Leiteiras.
In the form of a revival Tiki style twist on a tradition here's the Leiteira Cocktail recipe.
40ml Vodka
25ml Milk liqueur ( cantanhede )
40ml Passion fruit
20ml Vanilla syrup
20ml peach purée
Shake & strain to a metal mug with crushed ice and garnish with mint sprig, orange zest, cinnamon stick and a shot of Medronho* on a shell.
*Medronho is type of fire water from the south of Portugal produced from strawberry trees.
