A Pair of Recipes for National Coffee Day

Four readers love this post.
For National Coffee Day, I mixed up a pair of beverages. The first is an Old Fashioned using my home made Coffee-Pecan bitters (which came out delightfully well, by the way). This is a delicious variation of the Old Fashioned and I recommend you try it as soon as possible!
Coffee-Pecan Old Fashioned
1 bar spoon of Demerara sugar
1/2 bar spoon of Coffee-Pecan bitters
1 bar spoon water
1 1/2 oz Bulleit Bourbon
Lemon twist
Dissolve the sugar in the bitters and water. Add an ice sphere and top off with the bourbon. Rub the twist around the rim of the glass and then drop it right in!
When I first tried Karlsson’s vodka, they had a recipe on their site that was simply, vodka and coffee. I thought it sounded like an awful idea at first, but the more I thought about it… I figured I’d better give it a try. I mean, vodka and coffee are two of my favorite things, right? How bad could it really be? And then I tried it. And Karlsson’s jumped to the top of my favorite vodka list.
Karlsson’s & Coffee
1 oz Karlsson’s vodka
espresso (Although you can use regular coffee too. I won’t judge you.)
twist of lemon
Go on, get caffeinated!
