All September we're celebrating National Bourbon Heritage Month, a month long celebration of America's 'Native Spirit'. If you haven't noticed, whiskey bars, some specifically bourbon bars, have inundated the city this past year.

Within the last 12 months, 26th street welcomed both The Flatiron Room and Maysville. With one of the most extensive whiskey lists on the East Coast, The Flatiron Room offers flights of up to 6 whiskeys so don't stress about having to choose from such a lengthy menu. When you walk into Maysville, you can't help but stare at the gleaming wall adorned in the Native Spirit. With a name like Maysville, named after Kentucky's port town where Bourbon was born, you can expect an extensive list of bourbon and a menu of smoked, charred, raw and chilled American fare.

With a name referring to the aging practice of bourbon, you better believe Char No. 4 has an extensive American whiskey list. Do like they do in the south and head to this Cobble Hill joint for a stiff pour paired with some hearty meat dishes.
