INGREDIENTS:
¾ oz. Amaro Lucano
¾ oz. Aperol
¾ oz. Elderflower Liqueur
1 ½ oz. Fresh Squeezed Grapefruit Juice
GARNISH:
Orange peel
PREPARATION:
Amore is the Italian meaning of love & amaro is the Italian meaning of bitter. Amore amaro is a metaphoric way to say that love can be bitter and also that I love bitters. But your interpretation will be the one that counts! I love bitters and that is why I came up with this delicious recipe created around some amazing Italian amaros.
Following the order of the recipe, pour all the ingredients into your shaker. Now add ice and shake hard for 5 fast seconds making sure the juice and the liquors mix well together.
Double strain and pour the cocktail into an old fashioned glass on the rocks and then garnish and serve.
The color is dark melon orange with red veins. The aromas are citrus and floral bouquets which make this drink really interesting even before you start sipping it. The taste is a complex combination of bittersweet and citrusy flavors and it's incredibly balanced. I could definitely go for one of these right now... and if your amore is amaro, maybe you should go for two!
