After purchasing a bottle of Angostura 1919 for $34, we thought it would be good to pop the cork and see what it’s all about; we heard good things we we had to try this rum in a tasting.

The color is awesome, the aroma is also sweet and flavory on the nose but is it worth the $34? As it turns out, our referral was well founded, Angostura 1919 brings both a light and sweet vanilla, a little bit of a sugar cane sweetness in the finish and a smooth and silky mouth feel. You’ll get a bit of toffee or perhaps caramel as part of the initial attack on the tongue as well and the finish lingers for some time, making it a lovely sipper as well as a rum to coordinate in a classy cocktail.

Angostura 1919 really stands out and should be considered for those cocktails with few spirits, allowing the Angostura 1919 to really be the “core ingredient” for the design. I believe you’ll find Angostura 1919 can also fill in for a spiced rum because it has a nice complex flavor profile along with that light sweet yet full potency rum.

Yep, Angostura 1919 was well worth the $34 we spent on it.
