Yesterday AWS members gathered for our April Tasting event at William Hallet for some fabulous food, whiskey and good times with Stephen Schuler as we tasted our way through some delicious Four Roses Bourbons. There will be more to follow on the event by guest blogger, Susannah Skiver Barton. In the meantime, here is a little something to tide you over.

Our featured cocktail for last night’s event was fresh and light and inspired by the modern classic gin cocktail, the Jasmine. Instead of gin we substituted Bourbon and swapped out the Campari element for a less bitter alternative, Lillet Rosé. Perfect for a sunny day

April In Paris, KY
1 1/2 oz Four Roses Small Batch
3/4 oz Cointreau
3/4 oz Lillet Rosé
1/2 oz Lemon Juice
2 dashes Orange Bitters

Shake with ice, strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a grapefruit twist.
