Bangkok Sky Bar-Inspired Cocktail Recipes

Five readers love this post.
After one of those busy days, while visiting Thailand, I decided to step into the Cielo Skybar in Bangkok for a bit of refreshment and blow a little steam. I was not only blown away by the 360° view of the whole of Bangkok but also the cocktails. These cocktails just explode with fantastic taste in your mouth. So after I got back home, I decided to prepare three recipes of the best three cocktails I had at the sky bar.
The Classic Vesper Martini
The first cocktail of this gin-based roundup was inspired by the classic Vesper Martini that had me really blown away. This was inspired by the James Bond movies. For you to recreate a twisted version of this, follow these instructions:
Ingredients:
3 oz. of Gin
1 oz. Grey Goose (Vodka)
½ oz. Lillet blanc aperitif
Lemon twist for garnishing
2 ice cubes
How to make:
Put all of the ingredients plus ice in a mixer except the lemon twist ad stir. You can also shake the Bond way.
Strain the contents into a chilled cocktail glass.
Take a slice of lemon, rub it around the rim of the glass and put it in.
Be sure to serve it neat in the evening hours because it is strong. However, substituting the Grey Goose with your favourite vodka will make a whole difference in achieving your desired taste, leaving a smooth palette behind.
The French Martini
The second cocktail of this roundup was the French Martini, which was one of the favourites in the bar. To recreate this fantastic drink, you need to follow the following instructions:
Ingredients:
2 oz. of Absolut Vodka
1 ¾ oz. of pineapple juice
¼ oz. Crème de cassis liqueur
How to make:
Put all the ingredients into a shaker and shake the contents.
Fine-strain the contents into a chilled cocktail glass.
You should serve it neat/up or choose to substitute Absolut with your choice of vodka. Especially suitable served in the evenings.
The Last Word
The third cocktail you could try and recreate that I thoroughly enjoyed was The Last Word cocktail. Here are the instructions for the recreation:
Ingredients:
¾ oz. Oxley (Gin)
¾ oz. Green Chartreuse
¾ oz. fresh lime juice
¾ oz. Maraschino liqueur
How to make:
Put all the ingredients in a mixer with ice and shake.
Double-strain the contents in the shaker into a chilled coupe glass.
Serve it neat/up in the aperitif hours.
You could opt to use your favourite brand of Gin to give you your desired taste that feels right with your taste buds.
Just a sip of one or all of these recreated classic and favourite cocktails will have you feeling like a Thai resident enjoying the island breeze somewhere in Thailand. Anytime you are in Thailand, hop in at the Cielo Skybar in Bangkok and enjoy these and many more cocktails.
