Whilst in Nashville, I picked up some very delicious Bourbon Smoked Sea Salt by Bourbon Barrel Foods. This salt goes very well in a Maple Old Fashioned!

Ingredients:

  • Bourbon or Rye
  • Maple Liqueur
  • Brown Sugar or Demerara Sugar (I'd go with Brown Sugar)
  • Black Walnut Bitters
  • Bourbon Smoked Sea Salt
  • Orange Peel
  • Maraschino Cherry

Preparation:

Build in Glass:

- Add Sugar, Bitters and Maple Liqueur to glass and stir until sugar is nearly dissolved.

- Then add Bourbon or Rye and stir again.

- Add Cherry, Ice, express Orange Peel and garnish.

- Finally, add a pinch of Salt on top.

*If you find this to be too sweet, reduce the amount of sugar added to drink.
