This is another winner from the fine folks at BARRELL. I, so far have ha a chance to try 4 different batches and everyone has been a shining star of fantastic whiskey.

I stole this picture from them!

The company was founded by Joe Beatrice and his and their commitment to unique offerings from diverse sources whose principle commonality is incredible quality. They tell their story pretty well on the website . As a matter of fact. the website is a great tool to check out reviews (and even post your own) &details on every offering that they have released and how /v where to find them: Check it out here: https://www.barrellbourbon.com/

Basics on this bourbon:
~ from Tennessee {gee, I wonder who made this? ;) }
~ 124.7 proof {pow}
~ 8 years / 3 months old {new, charred, white oak -of course}
~ 70% corn, 26% rye & 4% malted barley

Doggone this is big, tasty bourbon! Nice chewy spices, intricate and balanced. The only time the higher proof shows force is when you dive deep, too quick into the aromas--so don't do that!

As usual, I went through a couple rounds of tastings, making notes before I put together my complete tasting notes.

Aroma:
Pears and figs dusted with fresh fennel roasted in cast iron over an oak fire misted with rain water.

Flavors;
Stone fruit stewed with oily nuts and baking spice and then bruleed.

Palate: The higher proof pushes these huge, sumptuous flavors across the palate with a vigor that is furtive and almost sensual.

Finish: Lingers, warm and spiced with supple demonstrations of the flavors and aromas that persist with elegance and boldness.

A wonderful bourbon with vibrant, full, flavors that is a "one-of-a-kind" and comes in at a nice price point. Looking for a treat? I say go for it!
