Black Card Cocktail

This recipe features one of my favorite spices, black cardamom, and a homemade spiced apple cider syrup. Harvested in the Himalayan mountains, black cardamom's smoky flavor and herbal quality mixed with the sweetness of apple brandy creates a smooth spirit-forward cocktail. The sugary sweet, bitter, and smoky flavor is perfect for the fall season and any holiday party. Enjoy!

Ingredients in the Black Card Cocktail

1 oz Calvados Boulard VSOP

1 oz Aged Rum (Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva)

1/2 oz Campari

1/2 oz Homemade Spiced Apple Cider Syrup*

1 dash Angostura bitters

1 dash Peychaud's bitters

How to Make the Black Card Cocktail

Combine all ingredients in mixing glass with ice and stir until well-chilled.

Strain into an old fashioned glass with ice.

Garnish with orange peel and black cardamom.

*To prepare the homemade spiced apple cider syrup, add apple, cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves to your favorite simple syrup recipe.
