Bobby Burns – double round!

One reader loves this post.
Having bought a new bottle of blended Scotch I just went for the Bobby Burns, with my new acquisitions: Drambuie and Benedictine.
Bobby Burns #1
- 1½oz Blended Scotch whisky (William Lawson)
- ¾oz Sweet Vermuth (Punt e Mes)
- ¼oz DOM Benedicitine
- 2ds Peychaud’s Bitters
Stir & Strain into chilled glass. Garnish with orange zest.
This was really refreshing and good. The orange paired well with all the three ingredients, the Benedictine contributed to the spicy-Angostura-like effect we usually have in a Manhattan. This was a great cocktail!
Bobby Burns #2
- 1½oz Blended Scotch whisky (William Lawson)
- ¾oz Sweet Vermuth (Punt e Mes)
- ¼oz Drambuie
- 2ds Peychaud’s Bitters
Stir & Strain into chilled glass. Garnish with orange zest.
This was smoother and not Manhattan-like flavorwise.
Although it was also really refreshing and cleaner than #1 version.
I think I should have used Angostura bitters instead of Peychaud’s since Drambuie would be adding the anise note and I wouldn’t be getting the spices from Benedictine.
Now we have a new favorite in here!
Saúde!
