No one can say for sure the origins of kombucha. Some say it dates back thousands of years, while others say it first appeared only two hundred years ago. It is thought to have been first created in China and traditionally consumed there, as well as in Russia and Eastern Europe.

Kombucha is made by taking a sweetened tea, then putting it through a fermentation process after adding “SCOBY”, a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast. While there are many claims that it has health benefits and curative properties, there hasn’t been much evidence to prove them. Regardless, we love the taste! Kombucha is a delicious addition to cocktails.

Ingredients (for 2):
3 ounces Licor 43
5 ounces Wonder Drink Kombucha
2 dashes grapefruit bitters
Optional mint garnish
Two squeezes of lemon Juice

Directions:
Fill two chilled old fashioned glasses with ice. Add one mini bottle of Licor 43 to each. Add two dashes of grapefruit bitters (NOTE: one dash is equal to 10 drops from your mini bottle of bitters) and one squeeze of lemon juice to each glass. Stir. Top each glass with roughly two ounces of kombucha. Stir again. Optionally garnish your drinks with fresh mint.
