SHORTY: Restauranteur Jacques Ouari opens this Parisian Bordello-inspired cocktail den with a downtown and 70's flair in SoHo adjacent to Jacques restaurant. Renowned mixologist and hospitality vet, Johnny Swet (JIMMY, The Skylark, Café Clover), curated not only the cocktails, but the design and overall ambiance. ABAJO: Because every weekend should be filled with tequila or mezcal… Chef Angelo Sosa introduces this agave-filled speakeasy under his hip Mexican restaurant and bar, Añejo, in Tribeca. Currently this tequila den is open just Friday and Saturday evenings. ROOFTOP FILM CLUB at THE TERRACE: Just in time for the warm weather, YOTEL New York has teamed up with the UK-based Rooftop Film Club to offer a new outdoor film series in NYC. Beginning on Wednesday, June 3rd locals and hotel guests are invited to take in their favorite movies on the expansive Terrace (the largest outdoor hotel space in the city). The screenings will include classic favorites like Top Gun and The Big Lebowski, while Tuesday’s are reserved for 'Chick Flicks' (think Pretty Woman and Dirty Dancing). Tickets are $15 per person or $25 with your choice of sangria or beer, plus a taco. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase throughout the evening. THE BLACK ROSE: Tomorrow, the East Village gets another rock 'n' roll bar. Cliché? Not in the slightest! Though some walls are adorned with vintage posters other design elements include recycled wood, metal and even objects salvaged from film sets... Owner Joseph Daniele's resume is filled with acting gigs in addition to bar partnerships. Best of all, this new spot has a backyard, over a dozen craft beers from around the world, and a craft cocktail menu created by Jessy Peters of Bodega Negra, Ivo Diaz, and The Black Rose’s GM Ashley Poe. STRIP HOUSE: Beginning tonight, both Strip House locations launch ‘Strip Tease’. No… not that kind, a new tasting menu featuring signature dishes on a smaller scale from 9pm until close each night. The 'Strip Tease' is priced at $59.00 per person for two guests and features classic Strip House items such as Dry Aged 1855 Heritage New York Strip carved tableside, Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, Goose Fat Potatoes, Black Truffle Creamed Spinach and a Baked Alaska. In addition to a great selection of late-night bites, guests will have the option of adding eight rotating reserve wines to taste.
