I’m super excited to announce two Booze for Babes  book events that will be taking place next week in New Orleans during Tales of the Cocktail, the world’s biggest spirits industry and cocktail festival. With one being at a day spa and the other at a high-end liquor and wine store, they’ll both be very different, right down to different expressions of bourbon sponsored by Four Roses. If you live in New Orleans or just want an excuse to get away to a charming city full of cocktail and liquor events, please come and tell your friends about them!

‘Be Bold’ with Booze for Babes at Belladonna Day Spa

What:  I’ll sign copies of Booze for Babes: the Smart Woman’s Guide to Drinking Spirits Right,  but this event will be extra interesting because in keeping with the lip printed glass on the cover of the book, guests will also receive lip makeovers and a free tasting from a neat spirits bar with three Four Roses expressions (who says beauty and brown booze can’t go together?). Guests are encouraged to take pictures of the prints they left on their whiskey rocks glasses and tag @bebelladonna, @boozeforbabes and @4rosesbourbon on Twitter & Facebook for a chance to win prizes! Guests will also receive a signed book, gift bag with surprise booze-themed goodies, and a booze-inar from me. We’ve titled this event ‘Be Bold’ to highlight our loves for bold rouge and brown spirits served neat or on the rocks.

This is going to be my best event yet! (we even have branded t-shirts for staff and everything)

When:  Wednesday, July 16 from 6-9 p.m.

Booze for Babes Signing & Tasting at Pearl Wine Co. I met Pearl Wine Co. owner Leora Pearl Madden while in NOLA’s mid-city neighborhood last fall and having a drink with Gwendolyn Knapp, the editor of Eater New Orleans at Pearl, which is also a liquor store and bar in one with a diverse collection. A young, refined and motivated lady entrepreneur, of COURSE we hit it off and she was so sweet to host me for this event.

What:  I will sign copies of Booze for Babes: the Smart Woman’s Guide to Drinking Spirits Right,  and lead an intimate, sit-down tasting of rare Four Roses expressions: the limited edition single barrel, limited edition small batch, and the fine old bourbon, which is currently only available in Japan. Guests will also get a welcome cocktail and a book. We’ll also chat about what makes these whiskeys special and mine and Leora’s observations as ladies in the liquor industry.

UPDATE on 7/12: Due to some complications with availability, we will now be tasting the Four Roses Yellow Label instead of the Fine Old Bourbon. I apologize, but it’s still going to be amazing!
