Whelp. This creation started off on a healthier path...

To be honest, I've never really experimented much with boozy smoothies–or as I like to call them "boozie smoozies". Well, to be honest, I don't experiment much with blended cocktails in general.

Backstory behind this, to tickle your curiosity, all began when I started to rearrange my kitchen. I'm making improvements on the far left wing to accommodate the spirits that I blindly–but very consciously–keep purchasing. The left wing, is my bar, if that wasn't clear. And I'm very aware of the storage space I have my place, and I often think about how there's, really, no room for another bottle, as I simultaneously swipe my card at the distillery for 3 more bottles. Anyway, in the process of moving things around, I locked eyes with my blender in the back corner of a cabinet I was clearing out. My–once loved and cherished–blender looked back at me in sadness, for no one likes to be forgotten. It's amazing how true the whole "out of sight, out of mind" thing can be, am I right? Anyway, sorry, I'm doing that rambling thing again. Point if this pointless story–I rekindled an old flame. And with the bucket of fruit I had in one hand and my amond milk on the brink of expiration in my other, the games began.

Aaaannnnd here we are! A boozie smoozie of rum, orange, banana, blueberries, strawberries, honey and almond milk! How fun! Is it good? You know, all I gotta say is, "It sure as hell ain't bad." I think I shall continue on experimenting with the blended drinks and see where that path takes me. Cheers!

Let's concoct:

  • 1.5 oz Cruzan® Aged Light Rum
  • 0.5 oz Orange Curcaço
  • 1 Banana
  • 8-10 Blueberries
