Growing up on the east coast, fall was all about apples. I’ve never had apples as juicy and sweet as the ones that grew locally near my hometown. Those apples made the best apple cider. Now that I live in Southern California, I’ve searched and searched and found that during the fall and winter months, Trader Joe’s is the only retailed that has a cider that can even come close. I’ve lightened up the calories for this cocktail by cutting the cider with black tea. The spiced rum makes it a great cocktail to sip on while you’re watching a hockey game (go sabres!) or tailgating at a football game (go bills!) and you need to stay warm.
