CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa grows its blue agave on property in a cactus garden under the supervision of Audrey Formisano, the resort’s tequila sommelier and an authority on the highly sophisticated and remarkably wide variety of tequilas. Formisano teaches guests about the history of Tequila in the Jalisco region of Mexico. Whether you’re new to tequila or a seasoned expert, there is a variety of tequila for you.

The experience was developed to increase guests’ knowledge of and appreciation for tequila and includes weekly tequila tastings offered in La Cava wine cellar as an extension of the "Secretos de la Familia" program. The presentation involves the history of tequila, and the newest technologies for tequila processing. Additionally, the resort offers more than 60 brands, representing 114 tequilas, by the glass.

Below are recipes offered at the resort that you can try yourself at home.

Horchata Margarita

2 oz. of CasaMagna Aged Tequila

1 ½ oz Controy (Mexican orange liqueur) or Cointreau

3 oz Horchata Concentrate (Horchata is a concentrated mix of milk, rice and cinnamon)

½ oz Natural Sweet Syrup

Hibiscus Margarita
2 oz. of CasaMagna Aged Tequila

1 ½ oz Controy (Mexican orange liqueur) or Cointreau

3 oz Hibiscus Concentrate (You can make your own with hibiscus flower infusion)

½ oz Natural Sweet Syrup

A few drops of lemon juice

Tamarind Margarita
2 oz. of CasaMagna Aged Tequila

1 ½ oz Controy (Mexican orange liqueur) or Cointreau

3 oz Tamarind Concentrate

½ oz Natural Sweet Syrup

A few drops of lemon juice

Blend all the ingredients with ice and serve in a special glass.
