Cider n' spice, with tequila is nice!

Nothing beats a good cider cocktail, and nothing beats a spicy cider cocktail when the season and temperature is applicable.

Otoño en Jalisco has been one of my favorite offerings over the past few years. What started out as a seasonal take on a Margarita morphed into a unique and versatile libation that can be enjoyed at any temperature; whether it be shaken and served on the rocks, or piping hot as many traditional cider cocktails are served.

The selection of a reposado tequila allows for a more full-bodied cocktail that stands with the cider. The addition of cinnamon and chili infused honey adds a multi-dimensional spice that will intrigue your senses and warm in even the coldest of temperatures.

Otoño en Jalisco

2 oz Herradura reposado tequila
1.5 oz Red Jacket apple cider
1/3 oz Thatcher's elderflower liqueur
1/2 oz Grilled lemon juice
1/2 oz Cinnamon and Fresno Chili infused honey (liquified 2:1)

In a small shaker tin, add all ingredients, add ice, and shake. Roll into a rocks or double old fashioned glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a grilled lemon wheel and cinnamon stick.
