May 5, 1862 marks victory for the Mexican Army over the occupying French forces in the Battle of Puebla, which is celebrated annually in Puebla as El Dia de la Batalla de Puebla.

Though there is limited recognition of the holiday in other parts of Mexico, it’s celebrated most-widely in the United States as Cinco de Mayo. Cinco de Mayo is of course celebrated on May 5. How will you celebrate? Most imbibe the “traditional” Margarita on this celebrated day in history. However, there are a multitude of other types of non-traditional Margaritas and Cinco de Mayo-inspired cocktails. Make one of the below cocktails and say cheers to the Mexican army’s unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on Cinco de Mayo!

This classic cocktail is one of the most popular drinks in America, and you can create your own authentic version right from home with only a few simple ingredients.

The only gin made using whole citrus fruit (including white grapefruit, lime, and orange), Tanqueray No. Ten gives this classic cocktail an extra kick of fresh citrus flavors:
