Don Julio

Los Angeles is an agave town. We like our tequila and mezcal. Cinco de Mayo has now turned into Drinko de Mayo. Here are some events to check out!

Saturday may be the Kentucky Derby but get a head start on Cinco de Mayo with Don Julio. I went to last year’s party and it was so much fun! This year’s it’s at Rolling Greens, a popular upscale nursery.

Saturday, May 4

5-8:30p – Rolling Greens

Ancho Reyes & Montelobos bar crawl

Next up, Ancho Reyes chile liqueur and Tequila Montelobos combine forces for a great crawl at Eveleigh, Melrose Umbrella Company (which just opened a beautiful patio– with a cocktail fountain!) and The Spare Room.

Pop-up Margarita garden with Gracias Madre

But you can swing by vegan Mexican restaurant Gracias Madre anytime! They are doing a pop-up margarita party all from 11a-10p featuring street corn, cauliflower tacos and more.

Mezcal El Silencio paloma at Spire 73

Mezcal El Silencio silent disco

5-10p: The Ace

And El Silencio is doing a silent disco party at the Ace on Sunday. Plus, there are drink specials all over town including Las Perlas, Spire 73, Dirty Laundry, No Vacancy, The Bronson Bar, Laurel Hardware, Toca Madera, Big Bar, El Condor, Wally’s Santa and more! Check out the full list here.

I particularly enjoyed sipping on a beautiful Silenco paloma at Spire 73, the tallest rooftop bar west of the Mississippi.

However you celebrate, enjoy the day! Salud!
