Do you miss warm weather and tropical flavors as much as we do at Liquor Lab? Rather than booking an expensive trip to a beach resort, or private island (we wish!), Liquor Lab brings the tropics directly to you with an added touch of heat to your taste buds. Try this Tropical Tequila Tonic recipe, which is the quickest way of saying "a spicy clarified pineapple margarita served as a soda." Kapeesh? This cocktail packs together all of the things we miss during the warmer, sunnier, summery months...
Ingredients:
2oz Volcan Tequila
2oz Clarified Pineapple Juice
1oz Habanero Infused Agave Syrup
1 Dash Volcanic (Black Salt) Saline Solution
1/8oz Citric & Malic Acid (or to taste)
Top with Fever Tree Tonic Water
Garnish: Dehydrated Pineapple and Spicy Seasoned Salt Rim
Instructions:
Combine everything, except for the tonic, in a mixing glass. Pack glass with ice. Stir, strain over fresh ice in seasoned-salt-rimmed Collins glass. Insert bar-spoon into center of Collins glass all the way to the bottom and pour Fever Tree Tonic down the side of the spoon so that it carbonates to the bottom of the drink. Garnish with dehydrated Pineapple.
Take a sip, close your eyes, and feel the cool breeze in your hair (oops, that's the window you left open).
Cheers,
-Team LL
*Habanero Agave Syrup = 1:1 Agave Syrup and hot water, slice and steep 1 habanero in syrup for 5 min.
*Clarified Pineapple Juice = Juice pineapple, spin pulp in cheesecloth and allow to hang.
*Seasoned Salt = combine 1:1 salt and seasoned mix (season mix = even ratio of Cayenne Pepper, Turmeric, Cumin, and Sugar)
