From the 1933 cocktail guide “Cocktail Parade”. One might assume a drink with this name would be made with Vodka, but in the 30’s Vodka wasn’t readily available in the United States and gin was the mainstay of any bar.
1 ounce gin
1 ounce fresh orange juice
½ ounce cherry brandy (Ted Haigh recommends Cherry Heering)
¾ ounce fresh lemon juice
Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
