The smokey flavor of bacon is good for so many things, including improving the taste of cookies, cupcakes, popcorn, and tacos. With that in mind, just imagine what it can do for a bloody mary.
Here’s what you’ll need to make it happen:
Ingredients
- 1/2 oz bacon-flavored vodka (you can use regular vodka, but add an extra piece of cooked bacon if you do)
- 4 oz tomato juice
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 to 2 dashes of hot sauce
- Juice half a lemon
- 1/2 teaspoon dried ground horseradish
- 1 slice of cooked bacon (you can buy this already cooked, you know)
- 1 celery stalk
- A sprinkle of seasoned salt and fresh ground black pepper (maybe a little cayenne pepper)
- Add some pickled vegetables if you want it to look purdy
- Go find yourself a pool to enjoy it by
Pro “Hangover” Tip:
A bacon bloody mary is actually a great cure for a hangover, and here’s why. While adding Vodka to a system that is already flowing with alcohol may sound crazy, the body will turn its attention away from the old alcohol to deal with the new, and you’ll feel a whole lot better in the process. As a bonus, the extra vitamins found in the celery and tomato juice will help replenish what you lost the night before, which will have a positive effect on the way you feel for the rest of the day.
Until next time…
