ABOUT THE CREOLE’D FASHIONED
The Creole’d Fashioned is a take on the classic Old Fashioned with a touch of New Orleans flair. Made as part of the 2019 menu at Chewies Steam & Oyster Bar, this cocktail uses a split base of bourbon and rum and a combination of Peychauds Bitters and Burlesque Bitters to add some spice to this drink. Burlesque Bitters is a menage of hibiscus, açai berry and long pepper creating sweet, spicy and tart flavours.
INGREDIENTS IN THE CREOLE’D FASHIONED
- 30 ml Bourbon
- 30 ml Flor de Cana 7 Year
- 2 dashes Peychauds Bitters
- 2 straws Bittermen’s Burlesque Bitters
- Brown Sugar Cube
HOW TO MAKE THE CREOLE’D FASHIONED
In a rocks glass or Old Fashioned glass add sugar cube and cover with bitters. Muddle the sugar bitters combination into a paste. Add ice, bourbon, and rum and stir for approximately a minute until ingredients are chilled and diluted. Garnish with an expressed orange zest.
