Deep Purple

A few weeks ago we started mixing with the Cruzan Blueberry Lemonade rum, and were very impressed with it. We’ve been pulling bottles out of our test bar in our annual cleansing. We’ve had a bottle of Cedilla acai liqueur sitting in the back gathering dust, begging for us to mix something with it. It seemed fitting, with its strong sweetness and hints of blueberry, that it should be used to backup the Cruzan.

Deep Purple

• 3 oz Cruzan Blueberry Lemonade Rum
• 1 oz Cedilla acai liqueur
• Juince from 1/2 lemon

Freeze a margarita glass.

Combine the ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice cubes. Shake well at least 30 seconds, until the juice is nice and frothy and you’ve broken up the ice cubes. Pour the entire shebang into your frozen margarita glass, ice and all. Garnish with a lemon wheel.

The acai has a taste very similar to blueberry, and the lemon boosts the sweeter lemonade flavors from the Cruzan.
