Margaritas are one of my absolute favourite drinks to make, and after spending the last few years perfecting them (my fiancé and I have Mexican night a couple of times a month) I wanted to try a new-to-me take on the margarita. I had some friends over a couple of weeks ago and my plan was to make pre-dinner margaritas for each of us. I headed over to my bar cart to grab the classic margarita ingredients and found myself staring straight at a bottle of St. Germain. I grabbed it off my cart and without hesitation added an ounce of the sweet, floral, syrupy liquor and skipped my usual addition of pineapple juice or agave syrup. After one sip I knew immediately that I had to share this recipe.

I assure that these margaritas are just as delicious as they sound and I highly recommend adding a dash of elderflower liquor the next time you go to shake up a margarita for yourself. But be fair warned, they go down a bit too easily!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 oz. Tequila (I love Casamigos)
  • 1 oz. Elderflower Liquor (St. Germain)

  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Ice
  • Salt for rim
  • Edible flowers or lime wedge for garnish
