About Bertani Wines
In 1857 the brothers Giovan Battista and Gaetano Bertani founded the company with the same enthusiasm and forward-looking approach that still inspire us today to produce wines that are remarkable for their subtle quality, such as Secco Bertani, but also wine that is able to interpret today’s tastes, such as Amarone Villa Arvedi: these are all wines that combine research and innovation with experience.
Ownership of the vineyards has been a constant feature of the company from generation to generation, and it is this that distinguishes the quality of our production: Bertani is still one of the few companies in the area that owns the vineyards where its grapes are grown.
Today Bertani is still owned by members of the family, and it is a solid company with a steadily growing European and world-wide distribution network, and with a corporate spirit that has always been a feature of our work, thanks partly to the new management style implemented in order to modernise a company that has always been known for its managerial skills.
The Bertani company owns vineyards and cellars in the Valpantena, on the Villa Novare estate in the Valpolicella, as well as land in the Soave area and in the areas around Lake Garda. The company headquarters is in the original cellars in Grezzana, north-east of Verona, where the historic vineyards are still to be found and where the work of vinification, ageing, bottling and despatch take place.
