Blackwell

Attention drinking people: National Rum Day has arrived. Whether it’s a mojito, daiquiri, dark ‘n’ stormy or a piña colada you better have a drink in hand. The rum is the most important part and we’ve got a bottle you need to get your hands on.

Dubbed “Jamaica’s black gold,” Blackwell Rum made its debut back in 2008. We were lucky enough to snag a bottle to get our rum drinking on early. Here’s what we thought.

We popped open the bottle and we could tell that this was going to be a boozy tasting. The rum had a strong but sweet smell with hints of honey, molasses and sugarcane. We sipped it straight at first and then added a little bit of Coke. The flavor was seriously delicious with a strong upfront and a smooth finish. It was spicy yet sweet and definitely meant for serious rum drinkers.

You can pick up a bottle today for $30. We’re dreaming of making an amazing dark ‘n’ stormy with it to celebrate this sacred day.

Have you tried Blackwell? Let us know what you thought of the dark rum.
