You will never guess how easy to make HOMEMADE IRISH CREAM at home! Such a great addition to cocktails, coffee, or ice cream.
With St. Patrick’s Day quickly approaching, I have everything Irish on the mind! My mom (Simply Sated) originally posted this recipe on the site back in 2012 and it has been a favorite ever since. Our photos back then were less than ideal, I always cringe when I look back to early posts, so I thought this awesome hack was worthy of a getting a face lift. The recipe is the same because it’s just too good! This is a no fail way to make your favorite tasty liqueur right in your own home! What could be better than Homemade Irish Cream!
Homemade Irish Cream is the perfect coffee creamer, ice cream topping, or cocktail addition. It’s also delicious sipped on it’s own, in moderation of course. :) It always reminds me of my Grandma…I’m not sure why. She let me take a super small sip when I was young and I thought it was so gross. I don’t think it’s gross now haha. It’s one of my favorite liqueurs!
var apntag = apntag || {}; apntag.anq = apntag.anq || []; //load ast.js - async (function() { var d = document, scr = d.createElement('script'), pro = d.location.protocol, tar = d.getElementsByTagName("head")[0]; scr.type = 'text/javascript'; scr.async = true; scr.src = ((pro === 'https:') ? 'https' : 'http') + '://acdn.adnxs.com/ast/ast.js'; if(!apntag.l){apntag.l=true; tar.insertBefore(scr, tar.firstChild);} })(); apntag.anq.push(function() { apntag.setPageOpts({ member: 1792, targetingParams: { } }); apntag.defineTag({ targetId: 'ga_os_6442038', tagId: 6442038, sizes: [1, 1], allowedFormats: ['video'], keywords: {}, video : { frameworks: [1,2] }, rendererOptions: { "playerTechnology": ["flash","html5"], "adText": "Ad", "showMute": true, "showVolume": true, "showProgressBar": true, "autoInitialSize": true, "playVideoVisibleThreshold": 50, "allowFullscreen": true, "audioOnMouseover": true, "expandTime": 300, "vpaidTimeout": 15000, "disableCollapse": false, "skippable": { "videoThreshold": 15, "videoOffset": 5, "skipLocation": "top-left", "skipText": "Skip video in %%TIME%% seconds", "skipButtonText": "SKIP" } } }); apntag.loadTags(); });
apntag.anq.push(function() { apntag.showTag('ga_os_6442038'); });
Since this recipe has a heavy cream component, you’ll want to be careful about blending it too forcefully. It’s really easy to get an unintentional whipped cream layer!! If you do get a cream layer rising to the top, you can sift the liquid through a cheesecloth of fine mesh strainer; and problem solved. No biggie.
I hope you love this recipe as much as we do! We always have a homemade canister on hand. The perfect nightcap. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

- 1 cup Heavy Cream
- 14 oz. (1 can) Sweetened Condensed Milk

- Bottle in a tightly sealed container and refrigerate.
- Shake before using.
- Will keep for up to 2 months.
- ENJOY!!
- Can also put in cute mason jars and give as gifts. Be sure to date the jars.
